Gurmeet S. Uberai, is a graduate in Commerce and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India with over five decades of experience He is a founding partner of J.P. Kapur & Uberai, Chartered Accountants which is 50 years old.
He has significant exposure to mergers and acquisitions, valuations, investment strategy, financial joint ventures (both inbound and outbound investments), technical collaborations, commercial documentation, due diligence reviews, regulatory approvals and syndication of funds. He has significant experience of Corporate Laws, Exchange Controls and Tax Matters.
Industry experience includes banks, industrial manufacturers, contractors, hospitality, processing companies, trading concerns, IT and ITES, enterprise engaged in genetic engineering, aviation, service companies, consultancy companies, infrastructure and development companies. Has been and on the board of various listed and unlisted bodies corporate engaged in a spread of industries viz, Financial Services Sector – banking (public sector bank) / NBFC, hospitality, services, travel, IT services, manufacturing and trading.

He is on the Board of plural hospitality related companies. The companies include IHHR Hospitality Pvt. Ltd, (the owners of the Ananda in the Himalayas hotels). Shanti Hospitality Pvt. Ltd which together with its affiliates owns five operating hotels under plural Hyatt brands and Marriott brands, Carlson Group companies and set up Amritara Hotels & Resorts Pvt.Ltd.
He is the founding member of BWH Hotels set up in the territory and an acting member on the Board.
